Energy Models for Commercial Buildings

Energy Models provide information on the current energy consumption and costs at a facility as well as a breakdown of consumption by end use. Energy Data Services utilizes the eQUEST building energy modeling software package. An eQUEST model takes into account the building geometry, orientation, construction materials, schedules, and conditioning systems as well as annual local weather data, in order to generate a viable estimate of the building's annual energy profile. Energy Data Services has completed Energy Models on a wide range of facility types, from multi-family properties to casino resorts and large industrial facilities. Energy Models are a useful tool for Energy Audits on existing buildings as well as an essential step in pursuit of Green Globes or LEED certifications for new construction.

Energy Models help you answer the following questions:
  • What is my current facility energy consumption?

  • What is the breakdown of energy consumption by end use?

  • What will be the energy consumption of my new building?

  • How efficient is my building compared to an ASHRAE 90.1 baseline?

  • How many Green Globes points does my building design score?

  • How many LEED points does my building design score?
